Prior to development of transmission-remote, the standalone client transmission-cli was created. torrent files exist: transmission-show, transmission-create, and transmission-edit, respectively. Three standalone tools to examine, create, and edit.
Transmission is fully supported in transmission-remote, the preferred cli client.
